VINNY FROM DA BRONX Print E-mail
On September 25, 1976, Vincent Vega; aka Vinny From the Bronx was born. He was raised by his mother in the Bronx, NY. In those times, his mother only did what she could, which was turn to music for joy. The era was filled with times of disco, and funky beats from the 70's. This would soon elaborate on what was to become.

Vinny grew off this disco era, which soon became the free-style fashion of the 80's. The 80's elaborated into a free flowing hip hop era of words that began to really represent the "life of the street" environment. This influence was the change of the times in the 80's, words of much love meant new music on the rise. New artists such as, Run DMC, Africa Bambatta, LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow and others were brought into the mix. This new sound expanded in many directions, breaking into an era for house music.

At the age of only 13, Vinny inherited 2 turntables and a Gemini Mixer. This great gift was from his uncle; the brother of his mother. Vinny had seen his uncle as a disk jockey during the disco era many times as a child. This was a fresh lesson for him to start his beginning.
Vinny started easy with free-style classics, but soon the music changed into the new style of the 90's. Dope tracks like, A Touch of Salsa, by Kenny Dope had a maturing grip. A Day In the Life of Todd Terry was an original recognized strongly by Vinny. At that point in time, Vinny knew he wanted produce music to its extreme.

Building experience wasn't easy, but by working hard in many record stores around New York City, his music knowledge intensified. By the age of 17, he was exposed to the club scene of Limelight. This exposure opened a new world of music called Techno.

Limelight was known for its original sounds from DJ's such as Frankie Bones, Lenny Dee, and DJ Corbett. The ways of music changed into freaky beats that would grow into a new decade. This new decade would spark electricity for music to be spun by Vinny in other clubs of NYC, such as the infamous club, known as the Tunnel. This changed Vinny's world of music as the parties thrown by Moses Rios expanded his unique house style.

In 2009, Vinny hyped the crowd at the Ultra Music Festival of Miami Florida during the Winter Music Conference. Then, once again in 2010, Vinny came back to Ultra Music Festival for a day of house techniques at the Day Glow Arena. This experience enlightened him to continue to enhance his skill of music. Music is a strong energy of art which is intended for all people.

Vinny has a strong love for music. This love for his skill is always evolving. He will continue to produce an art for the people to create an energy that will change and grow with the times. Music is something that can be heard or felt by everyone.
